Hear me, LORD, and answer me,
for I am poor and needy.
Guard my life, for I am faithful to you;
save your servant who trusts in You.
You are my God; have mercy on me, Lord,
for I call to You all day long.
Bring joy to Your servant, Lord,
for I put my trust in You.
You, Lord, are forgiving and good,
abounding in love to all who call to You.
Hear my prayer, LORD;
listen to my cry for mercy.
Teach me Your way, LORD,
that I may rely on Your faithfulness;
give me an undivided heart,
that I may fear Your name.
I will praise You, Lord my God, with all my heart;
I will glorify Your name forever.
For great is Your love toward me.
Psalm 86:1-6,11-13
Father, some days it feels like I am just holding on by a thread. Then I take a "leap of faith." Thankful that You are always holding the other end of that thread. I trust You. Then I remember . . .
My sins are always before me. I am poor and needy in spirit anxious for Your forgiveness. I have failed You, my family, friends, and even complete strangers in countless ways. I am so sorry.
Teach me Your ways, Lord. Help me to live according to Your will. Give me an "undivided heart." I love that phrase. Too often my heart wants to love You completely, but a part of me is always tempted by my own selfishness and pride. An undivided heart - devoted completely to You . . . overwhelmed that the God of the universe has "great love toward" me.
Thank You Father. Your love. Your forgiveness. Your guidance. Help me to take a leap of faith. Amen.
