Forgiveness

Occasionally we come face to face with a situation that requires some introspection. We have to stop and ask ourselves, "What just happened, and how do I feel about it?" Without going into any details, I had one of those moments today. How do I feel about it? I feel forgiveness.

I've been pretty sure that was the case for a long time, but it's easy to believe we have forgiven an offense when we don't have to deal with it. When the Lord brings you to it . . . that is when you have to determine if He has really brought you through it. I am happy to say . . . Glory Hallelujah!!

Movin', Shakin', and Praisin'

Praisin' God for a wonderful visit with my family! Our little man is getting so grown up. He is so anxious to run, he may just skip walking and move straight to a marathon.

Elimination Diet - HELP!

Once again, I am turning to all of you for help. If you would pass this along to friends and family who you know have been down this path themselves I would greatly appreciate it.

I have dealt with some health aggravations for . . . well, for as long as I can remember. I call them aggravations, because they are issues that I simply believed were things with which I was just going to have to adjust. Lately, they have become a bit more annoying, and by God's grace He has placed several friends in my life who have been investigating food intolerance as the problem for many health issues.

My request for help comes from a need for recipes and yummy things to eat. I have read two books: 1. IBS - Free At Last, by Patsy Catsos (Okay, now you know the source of my aggravation.) and 2. Diet Wise, by Prof. Keith Scott-Mumby. Since reading these books recommended by my friend, Mel. Thank-you, thank-you! I have determined the need to try an elimination diet.

Find A Cure!

I do believe we have all been touched by breast cancer in one way or another. My dad sent this to me this week, and I wanted to share it with all of you. My dear mom had a double mastectomy in 2000. We were all blessed that she was declared cured; however, she wore the physical and emotional scars of the dreadful disease. 

This adorable picture is a great reminder that we all must continue to do all that we can to work toward a cure! 

Ick!

  I am not a weenie! I am one of those individuals who will charge on with my to do list even on a day when I am fighting a bug. I will add that I do my best not to share my germs with others; they are best kept to ones self! ;-)

With all of that being said, I have been sucker punched this week with an upper respiratory infection. I'm cranky! My eyeballs hurt!

So, those of you who normally visit on Thursdays looking for our weekly Bible Study. I am hoping to be back at it tomorrow. After spending the afternoon at the doctor - I am off to rest and work at getting better.

Time for a New Routine

Maybe it's the cooler temperatures today or maybe I came away from the weekend inspired, but I got out of bed this morning energized with a desire for productivity.

So, I am taking a quick break between cleaning house (you all know how much I love that ;-) and heading down to the treadmill, to write this post.

Years ago I was as faithful as my dh and dd when it comes to getting in at least five workouts each week. Then I let myself get out of the routine, and it has been terrible to try to push myself into that discipline again.

Squished

Yes, I did have my mammogram today. Since I have been listing some of the things I love and some I hate, I thought I might share with you how I spent my afternoon. Getting my mammogram does not rate among the things I love . . . that would be sick and wrong! However, I am thankful for this diagnostic tool.

Like you, I know many women who have been stricken with breast cancer. Praise God, I have known survivors due to early diagnosis. So, I go and get squished every year to year and a half. I request a specific technician, because she is kind and makes the experience as tolerable as possible. She told me today that she has been doing this since 1975, which makes her a pro as far as I am concerned.

The FDA has a fact sheet that will give you answers to some of the commonly asked questions about breast cancer screening.

I have shared with you this week that I am a procrastinator, especially concerning things that I don't want to do. How foolish to put this off and find myself regretting such a decision. So girlfriends, go get squished! It will do you good!

Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people.
